Robert Marcotte

Active in the event planning field for the past fifteen years, Robert Marcotte gained all his knowledge through the many assignments he carried for the Just For Laughs festival. Not only did he direct many cabarets, he was also in charge of organizing various celebrations, of setting press conferences, and of welcoming artists. He has also carried the roles of being a coordinator of the Just For Laughs museum, a host of ceremonies and the maitre d’ for many corporate events that took place at the museum. Those diversified tasks within the world renowned company have taught him many aspects of event panning and designing and have given him a reliable experience.

Taking pride in his work, Robert Marcotte attended Professional Restaurant Service and Oenology and Wine Serving courses at the renowned Institut du tourisme et de l’hôtellerie du Québec. His main goal while gaining this knowledge was the better pairing of food and wine when putting together feasts and banquets. As for his flair for entertainment, he developed it way before he started working for Just For Laughs since he studied acting at Collège Lionel-Groulx and also took part in acting seminars in France and in Quebec.

Thanks to his wide-ranging experience and diversified training, Robert Marcotte is now at ease with every step leading to a successful event, from conception to achievement. He has also perfected the ability to be in control at all times, to adapt to sudden reversals of situations, and to foresee the unexpected. Furthermore, he has gathered, throughout the years, many trustworthy collaborators and suppliers to work with, while he is also fond or recruiting new professional talents as well as emerging artists and craftsmen.
